I do really believe this, because I believe the bible!
However, I don't always behave as if I believe it. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. Around Christmas time I do enjoy giving more than receiving for sure, but I probably don't have pure motives even in that. If I received no thanks or praise whatsoever for the gift, then I might not think giving was so great.
Then again, the Holy Spirit does sanctify those who are saved, and the Lord gives us hearts that love others, so I think that at times I do glorify him with my giving.
